Across Europe, the impact of separation due to a parent's imprisonment remains a widely unrecognised issue in public policy for vulnerable children
Our Goals
Recognition of the rights of children with imprisoned parents — enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the European Convention on Human Rights and other treaties;
Recognition that prisoners’ children constitute a group of vulnerable children with special needs;
Recognition of the importance of promoting initiatives that protect and support the child-parent bond;
Recognition that supporting children with imprisoned parents is a public health issue.
