European conference - Pathways to inclusion

Hungary - February 22-24, 2010

Budapest European conference organized by the European Commission ( Directorate-General for Education and Culture; DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities; DG Justice, Freedom and Security) entitled “Pathways to inclusion: strengthening European cooperation in prison education and training”.

The conference will bring together a wide range of important stakeholders to discuss key issues regarding prison education and training, and the role that European programmes and policy initiatives can play in this regard.

The conference will bring together representatives of the projects and networks funded by European programmes — Grundtvig (adult learning), Leonardo da Vinci (vocational training) and EQUAL development partnership — and policy-makers, including senior officials responsible for coordinating prison education at national level and, in some cases, the director-generals of the prison service.
